Google Game Changer
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
If you’re into pay per click marketing (or indeed search engine optimisation), the game has changed as of today.
To those of you who are new to pay per click / Adwords may see this change as insignificant, but please don’t under estimate this one.
You see Google has updated its keyword tool to show exactly how many searches were done on a keyword last month, and on average. This gives you a much, much clearer idea of whether a keyword is worth pursuing.
Seriously, don’t underestimate this small yet very powerful change.
Ed Dale has just produced a great passionate video about it. CHECK IT OUT HERE.

Great New Heatmap Analytics Tool
Here’s another great tool for you.. and best of all it’s freeeeeee!
It’s call ClickTale, and is a brand new way of analysing visitors to your website.
Rather than just dry analytical data, ClickTale give you “heat maps” (similar to those in eye tracking studies) to work out what visitors are doing on your website. You can even watch videos of what your visitors are doing.
It’s pretty amazing, but scary at the same time! Check it out here:
This kind of data, until now, would costs thousands to produce with in depth eyetracking studies. I stongly urge you to test this on your website - It’ll give you some great insights into visitor behaviour that could lead to a breakthrough in conversion rates.
Enjoy.
Very Cool Pay Per Click Tool
I’ve been playing with this for about a month now and it’s a great little (free) resource.
It takes the concept of keyword spying and takes it a step further - giving you a rough idea of what keywords are profitable in your market.
The guys who developed it have just made some really cool videos about how to use this very powerful tool…

Remember I sent an email out a couple of weeks ago asking you for your

- My opinion on internet marketing “get rich” schemes,
- How to find out if your new product or service has the makings of success with very little risk,

The file’s pretty big at about 66MB and runs at about 1hr 10mins.
It’s available as an mp3 so you can stick it on your Ipod or burn

Spy On Your Competition and Discover Their Profitable Keywords
I’ve tried a few keyword spy tools and have been quite disappointed so far. They either give you silly results or they are fine if you live and market in America.
However, I’ve just signed up to Keyword Spy and so far I’m pretty impressed!
The best thing about this is that you can select where you want to “spy” quite accurately, rather than just assuming you’re in America. You can pick either UK, Australia, Ireland, Canada & South Africa, as well as a “Global” option.
It tells you exactly what keywords your competition are bidding on, and although it’s not totally accurate it does give you a damn good idea of what they’re up to!
You can also view their ads related to the keyword and find out how many other advertisers are bidding on a search term. I just spent about 4 hours on this thing last night - it’s fascinating.
I don’t think this replaces good keyword and market research, but if you are entering a new market or are in a competitive market, this’ll definitely give you an edge.

Google Adwords Keyword Tool (Paid)
This is the tool that I use for mine and clients campaigns to generate extensive keyword lists and just generally reduce the labour of setting up an adwords campaign.
It’s by Howie Jacobson (The man who wrote Google Adwords for Dummies) and is not only highly recommended by me, but also the Google Adwords legend, Perry Marshall.
Don’t let the red fonts and yellow highlighter put you off, it’s actually a great tool if you can get past that!
I think you can take a trial for $3.95 (2 quid) if you scroll to the bottom of the sales page and click the
“Click here to start your 21-day trial of The AdTool.”
It’s just above the address at the bottom of the page.

Free Pay Per Click Visitor Value Calculator Tool
I’ve just created a simple tool that helps you work out your website visitor value. It’s nothing too complicated, but it does the trick.
Visitor value is really important when bidding on paid (pay per click) traffic as it helps you work out what you can afford to pay for a click and not lose money.
Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments section!
Cheers,
George
