Handy Email Trick and a Little News
The last month has been a busy one.
I’ve been rewriting this site as well as creating videos, reports, audios and all other kinds of goodies you’ll be able to get your hands on shortly.
You see, I’m pretty good at sorting out clients websites and landing pages, but shockingly lackadaisical when it comes to my own. Rather like the builder’s house that’s always a mess and half finished.
Anyway, expect some changes round here pretty soon.
About the video…
I made this video below ages ago (or ages ago in Internet years, anyway) and thought it’d help you, dear reader. It’s a little tutorial about how to track who clicked on your links in an email marketing campaign.
This is handy when you’re trying to work out who’s paying attention – and worth spending more time on – and who’s not.
With this technique, you can see what each individual email subscriber did on your website and identify them by their email address.
Here’s the video:
Also, I’m now taking on new clients. So if you’d like me to help you with your pay per click marketing, website conversion rates, landing pages or email marketing, pop me an email and we’ll take things from there.

George, good trick but there is no way to use those segmented email addies unless you re-import them back into Aweber… and then they need to confirm the optin, because Aweber won’t allow an import unless they confirm. You can of course manually send them email, which isn’t practical when you have email lists in the high five figures like I do, or even in the hundreds if you get good open and clickthru rates.
Would appreciate you feedback…
Hi Robin,
Thanks for your comment. You’re absolutely right, you couldn’t import a “responders” list back into Aweber without getting them to confirm, which is a pain.
There are, however, other email service providers who will allow you to import a list and mail them without confirming. Off the top of my head, Get Response and Constant Contact spring to mind. You can use them to send offers over to your top responders.
Hope that answers your question, but if it doesn’t, feel free to leave another comment or send me an email.
Thanks,
-George
If you are using one shopping cart once they are in your list and confirmed you can put them into other lists in your account.

Hi George
This is a great tip however the link that is generated looks really unwieldy as it is 3 lines deep.
Don’t you think that will
put people off clicking on it?
Gavin
Hi Gavin,
The trick in aweber (or 1shoppingcart) is to turn on click tracking. That way, in aweber the link will look like
“http://clicks.aweber.com/?xxxxxxxxx”
…and no more unwieldly than any other tracking link.
Cheers,
-George
